Re: Cormac | Katie - Brief moment alone.
Katie and Cormac didn't fight. Not like this. They argued and bickered but even their break-up had been non-confrontational and completely amicable. Maybe that said something but she wasn't sure and maybe it'd been easier on her than it'd been on him. Apparently, there was ten years worth of frustration seeping out and she couldn't figure out why.
She didn't know everything that happened in the next ten years. She started playing for the National team and she knew she and Marcus started getting involved with one another and then she fell for him and then pregnancy and Australia and maybe they grew apart? She couldn't imagine not talking to Cormac. He'd been a near daily part of her life since she was eleven. He was there when George left and when Alicia and Ange were out of school...
"I- yeah," she murmured, taking the joint back and inhaling. She didn't indulge often. A few times a year but that was it. This week and around her curse date... "Cormac..."
She twirled the bud between her fingers, thoughts drifting. So many people seemed to have such a problem with her and George. It was like they didn't want them to move past the friendship and she wasn't sure she understood why. But, Cormac wasn't alone in his opinions and that made her think.
"Are you okay?" she asked, wondering if this was less about her and maybe about what he'd left behind at home and this was the easy thing to focus on. "Like... this isn't like you. I'm confused..."
