Her breath hitched faintly, and her eyes closed as he spoke. He hadn't said it, no, but she had to work hard to prevent herself from tearing the truth from his mind. Their fight before her "death" had been due to her belief that he'd had an affair with Emma, and while it had only been a mental affair, courtesy of the blonde's powers, the ultimate reason was because Jean hadn't trusted her husband. And even now she was having trouble with that, despite the fact that she had every reason to believe him.
"No," she said quietly, "You can't know what I went through. And I know this is difficult for you - you don't have to patronize me." She huffed faintly as her hands balled in to fists. "So what are you going to do with this dilemma of yours? You're in love with two women. You can't have it both ways, Scott."
She tensed instantly at the touch, opening her eyes again. After a moment, Jean turned her head slowly to meet his gaze.
"You didn't answer my earlier question, about what this means for you and me."
