"Yeah, that's when I knew I had to walk away." Steve took a deep breath and let it out slowly. The guilt damn near choked him. When it got to that point he wasn't trying to protect Bucky. He had let the anger win and that he was not supposed to do. He was supposed to be a good man and he had failed. "I don't know if this will help but it wasn't you. It wasn't about killing you. It... everything. I've been working on it in retirement."
Yet, he wasn't done with this conversation no matter what Tony felt. Steve sat back in his chair and watched Tony move around for a refill. "I know I did wrong and went too far. You did too. We both forgot why we do this and let that bastard manipulate us."
