“That’s.. a lot of boxes,” Zedd had nothing when he moved in. Just the modern basics. His eyes swept the front area where the movers had set the boxes and finally his eyes landed on the young man behind them. He was all smiles, not at all the monster the agency made him out to be. He did get a bit out of hand sometimes. Later. They’d talk about it later. Jaws and Thunder were sitting so patiently outside of the door to great their new guest. Two tanks instead of dogs. Jaws had his nose pressed against the glass, his tail wagging hard enough to rival indiana jones. Zedd let them in without further preamble, snapping his fingers as they made a run toward the new assistant. “He is our friend. You be kind, don’t jump on him,” he warned and Thunder whined, inching over to greet Ty. “Just tell them down, Jaws knocks people over. He’s a lover and he’ll keep you safe.” “You have horses!” Ty set down his shoulder bag. He went down on one knee and let the pups sniff him. He laughed and received pitbull licks. “Oh, this job just got so much better.” Ty extracted himself from the adorable dogs. He picked up his bag and looked around the beautiful bare home. “So… do you never live here?” “Part of the time, it’ll be yours mostly. Have you got pets? Jaws and Thunder keep watch on the house, but they’re family pets. Rescued ‘em,” he beckoned them over and Thunder watched him in anticipation for a treat. “Later, don’t be stingy. There’s plenty of pizza in the icebox, love.” “I live here part of the time. I’m in the studio now, so this is home base. What’s mine is yours. I know it isn’t terribly home-y… I travel light,” he pulled his wallet from his pocket, taking out a new card and holding it out to the mer, “this is yours. Don’t go too wild, but it’s linked to my account.” “So the benefits of this job are far more than I expected. I am going to get a designer for the kitchen and at least my rooms.” He started looking at each box. They had a category and number. This one was blankets 45/430. “The more important part is what does the pool look like?” Zedd was happy to provide, he knew he could be a bit… troublesome. He forgot to call, he’d go some days without contact and he was constantly getting into it with paparazzi. They’d worry about boxes later, Ty was asking about the pool and the incubus waved him over. Thunder and Jaws were at his heel, but rushed by to get outside again. The pool overlooked the city, and it was salt water of course. Better for skin. Better for mer. He was doing his best to accommodate him. “Yours. I stay in the shallows, can’t swim very well.” “I wouldn't let you drown. I only do that to my exes.” He sat down beside the pool and ran only his finger tip along the water. The sun had warmed it. “I can't let myself in until i get my movie unpacked. But… I swear you will have the best PA i can be. Should i know about a catch?” Right, siren. Zedd almost laughed, but that wide eyed stare never left Ty a moment. He’d killed before, Zedd. When he was younger, learning about himself. Happy little accidents he’d called them. His arms were crossed as he watched him test out the water. “No catch. What have you heard?” He was curious as to what his last P.A. had told him. He’s given her grey hair. “I appreciate it, you know. I tend to disappear, but I’ve always got my phone on me.” “She said you were stubborn. Also that she thought choosing you meals was tactless. Since you are an Incubus, i assume that is part of the job. I expect stubborn and i will meet you step for step. You will be at interviews on time dressed and looking proper. I've always considered people who were beautiful to be trouble.” Ty took his hand away before he was too tempted to slide in. “Pointless at this time,” Zedd smiled, he had a rather interesting personal life. “She was terrible at picking them out anyway. There has to be some attraction. Is the pool to your liking, love?” Thunder hopped right in, getting water everywhere and a small sigh slipped from his lips. “My closet is also at your disposal. We look about the same size… similar styles, you can pick outfits from there and I also have a stylist. There’s a list of numbers you should add to your phone. Or did you need a new one?” Ty found himself splashed and shook his head. Looked like he was going in. He moved off to set his keys, phone and wallet on the table. “Look away please.” He waited before undressing. His thin small body was not exposed for long before he joined the water and pup. A shimmering blue and grey scales wrapped his legs. He thrashed and paced the pool 8 times before finally bursting up from the surface wet and grinning. Admittedly, Zedd had never seen a mer in their natural form. Mer were trouble, more so than an incubus. Ty seemed a good sort and he was willing to give him a try. Jaws joined the party, dog paddling for his life over to the stairs. His head tilted in wonder as he looked over the scales. He wanted to touch. But he kept his hands in his pockets. “Well?” “It will do. I'll order myself a work phone and settle in today and tomorrow.” He took a happy sigh before he was splashed by happy dogs. Ty wrinkled his nose at them. “I want full access to you. Keys, codes, numbers. My job is to be your responsible side. I already made sure to get your upcoming engagements. You have a radio interview tomorrow for an east coast station. I will see you at 4am for vocal warm ups and into your home studio to make the call with them…. Thank you, by the way. For all of this.” Zedd smiled, it was warm. Inviting. Not at all like the monster his former assistant made him out to be. This one was on top of things, he was also going to learn that Zedd was a terror. He made everyone worry when he disappeared for days. “I’ve got that party tomorrow as well, but order any phone that will help you. You’ll have access to everything. It’s all been changed, of course.” “I’ll leave you time for a disco nap.” Ty knew the man was pretty. He had thoroughly researched the trouble that this star was. But that smile… oh Ty was going to be very very careful. “Oh, one more thing. I will not be food. Not for an emergency, not for fun. If you try to charm me I will sue you for everything you are worth.” “I’ve got meals covered, love,” the eyes had it. He wasn’t sure which direction his life was headed but he wasn’t starving anymore. He was filling out, changing. He didn’t appear so tired. “I sleep until ten. I’d like things scheduled after, but sometimes it can’t be helped.” “Perfect. I promise to let you sleep after the morning interviews. And I'm glad you have that in line.” |
