Who: Jamie Chambers and Theodore Nott
Where: the Great Hall
What: Late lunch and who knows what else!
When: Saturday afternoon
Rating: Low-ish
Status: Finite
Jamie sat down in a mostly-deserted Great Hall to a late lunch of steaming, creamy tomato soup and a toasted cheese sandwich. A mug of warm tea sat by his plate and he smiled, cupping his hands around the pewter container to heat them. Life was simpler on the weekends - less hurried, less stressful. There was time to be with friends and try to come to terms with all that was happening around them. Jamie wasn't overly worried, though. He had faith in the Ministry. They would find a cure at some point. In the mean time, he could be there for his friends and schoolmates and try to get their minds off the virus. After all, there was Quidditch and NEWTs in the spring and those blasted baby spiders running around everywhere.
Okay, so maybe everything wasn't nice.
But there was a huge difference from last year - no one was trying to kill them. There were no students cursing each other (except for the occasional hallway spat) or hiding out in the Room of Requirement (they'd found other places, he was sure). They were all together. There were no missing classmates or family members. While there wasn't open communication with the outside world, at least their families would all be notified of what was happening.
He took a bite of his sandwich and chewed thoughtfully, trying to come up with something to do for the afternoon.
