Great. Really, he could've handled being her family when she liked girls and she didn't think of any blokes that way, but hearing it now.. well it just made him feel worse. Wayne knew it was stupid. He didn't think of her like that.
But still. Sally was the only girl who ever saw him as more than a loser and even she didn't see him as.. worthy.
Closing his eyes for a moment, Wayne knew he had to ignore how he felt. She was upset and he hated when she was upset. Swallowing back all his anger and hurt, Wayne let out a long breath and opened his eyes again. "Come here," he said and set his tablet aside.
