George froze momentarily. He knew that Angelina had been about to mention Fred’s name before correcting herself. It was awkward. Fred was bound to come up at some point, he had been a big part of both of their lives, but George just didn’t feel ready to talk about him just yet in case he ended up crying and not being able to stop. That would surely make Angelina feel bad, or maybe cry herself and he wasn’t sure how he’d deal with that. Better just ignore what had nearly been said.
“Are there stories about witches and wizards?” asked George, desperately wanting the conversation to stay away from anything that might cause them pain. “I’d love to see what muggles think we’re like.”
He paused before adding, “I’d like that.”
He really would like to start spending time with Angelina again. He felt really comfortable right now, with his arms around her all cuddled up. Just like old times. He couldn’t shut himself away from the world forever.
