Neville heard the door open but could not stand up right away. The plants he'd been working with had long vines that draped down to the floor from the main part of the plant up on the tables. He was crouched down checking some of the vines which were winding around his hands. Normally they were harmless but if something in their grasp suddenly tried to brake away they would tighten and shoot a paralyzing venom into whatever it had in its grasp. It wasn't strong and would wear off in less than an hour but could still be quite a nuisance.
He gently started to ease the vines off of his hands and start to stand up. He saw Dennis looking rather distraught. He felt a slight tightening in his chest when he saw Dennis but knew by the look on his face that Dennis did not need to hear of Neville's guilt again.
"Dennis?" Neville said quietly, still not completely free of the plants and still crouching slightly. "You...you alright?"
