Susan took a cookie too, and curled up next to Sally, nibbling the edges. Chocolate chip... her favourite comfort cookie.
"I guess, since you're not going to shut up until I tell you." She poked Sally in the stomach with mock frustration.
"I just... I was glad you offered you stay with me tonight. I was kind of hoping you'd suggest it." Swallowing was getting harder. She gazed out the window at the strange substance between them and the outside world.
