Megan had spent the entire morning getting ready for the ball. That included going to Hogsmeade to buy a special salve guaranteed to make her face smooth and flawless. She had washed her hair with a expensive shampoo that left her smelling like flowers and twisted it up off of her neck. No one to normally wear makeup, Megan had even let one of the eight year girls do her eyes and lips.
It was the prettiest she had ever looked and Megan really, really hoped that Stan liked it.
The final touches came from slipping on her gown and pinning a bright orange flower in her hair. Her stomach was filled with nerves and Megan thought about owling Stan to cancel. But she was far too excited about seeing him to allow that thought for too long.
Instead she went off to hide on the fifth floor, tucked into a small alcove complete hidden by a large tapestry of Merlin. Megan conjured a chair and sat down, waiting for Stan to come find her.
