Laughing again, Padma kissed Stephen firmly and hugged him so tightly she thought she might break him. She thought she knew him. Padma was certain that he would have waited until they were further along with their lives before asking her to marry him. The surprise proposal had been perfect and she couldn't really believe it had happened. It was then she realised he had put a ring on her finger. For a moment, she was nervous. Padma didn't wear much jewelry and she wasn't ostentatious. She knew, of course, of Stephen's wealth and he could buy her the largest diamond she had seen if he wanted to.
Looking at her hand, Padma's heart melted. A simple platnium band with a dozen yellow diamonds set into it. It was perfect. "Oh, its beautiful," she said softly.
