Stephen was nervous. His heart was beating rapidly, he felt more than a little jittery and his hands were just a little warmer than normal. But next to that was excitement. He couldn't help but picturing the rest of their lives together. Every imagine seemed more perfect than the next. Their marriage, their children, everything they had together. He took her hands and held them, smiling at her a bright smile. He had been thinking about how to say this for a while now and he still didn't know exactly how to put it.
"Padma," He started slowly before clearing his throat again nervously. "I don't know if I've told you lately that you are the best thing thats ever happened to me. The greatest thing in my life. You are brilliant, you are beautiful, and you are kind. You are everything and more. Most importantly, You've been my best friend for as long as I can remember. You've been there for me through every success and failure. I've never loved anything as much as I love you. I can't imagine loving anything as much as I love you now. I can't imagine not having you in my life forever. I want to have you in my life forever." With that, Stephen fell to one knee and pulled the ring out of his pocket, holding it out to her.
"Padma Patil, Will you marry me?" He asked softly. Practically holding his breath. He didn't even think about what would happen if she said no. He' probably throw himself in the lake.
