Astoria's answering smile was a bit strained. It wasn't that Astoria didn't love her family, but she had spent so long being angry at them that she couldn't think of any other way to act. Or she could and simply didn't know how. A part of her wanted a better relationship with her sister - badly. But she ignored it as best she could because it was hard to think of Daphne as anything but the perfect daughter, the one who got all the love and attention and everything else that Astoria always wanted. She wasn't even sure of how Daphne felt about her. She figured it was something unfavorable because of how she herself felt. Her family caring about her, wanting to know her, was a completely foreign concept to her.
Really, she didn't think anything would ever change.
Astoria contemplated the offer. She could have easily made some excuse. It was what she usually did. But maybe it wouldn't be that bad. Sitting here didn't mean she had to talk to Daphne. "No. I don't...have anything to do. I'll join you," she responded a bit awkwardly. She sat next to her sister and made herself comfortable, hoping this wasn't a mistake.
