Desiree took one of the comics and flipped through it. The pages were bright with colours and pictures, but they weren't like children's stories. In fact the pictures were very detailed and adult-like. A child would never appreciate the kind of work that went into this kind of art. Desiree let her fingers touch the pages, admiring the colouring and details of these charters, backgrounds, and appearance in general. She had to admit, they were beautiful. It made her a little sad she'd never even heard of one before, but now that Ward was here to save the day, that would be fixed. Hey, did that make him a novice hero?
"Okay!" Desiree replied, her voice tinted with excitement as well. She loved what muggles called 'fantasy creatures' like vampires, werewolves, and unicorns, so why wouldn't she love superheros? That was just the wizard version of fantasy! Des listened closely as Ward explained superheros, his excitement fueling her own. These people certainly sounded interesting, and Desiree continuously forgot they came from comics, and that they weren't real. "Do you know superman?" Desiree asked, before realizing what she was asking. Of course he didn't, since comics were fiction, but Desiree didn't really grasp the concept of fiction.
"Hey," Desiree began, a gleam in her eyes, "we should write comics about ourselves. We could be novice heros, and work our way up. You've already starting hero'ing by teaching me about all these people. And it's not like we couldn't be our own version of Spiderman if we learned how to shift into animals, right? We could be vampire-batwoman and... and... well what's your favourite animal?" As she spoke, Desiree clutched the comic tightly in her hands, feeling a sense of protection over the book. These were special!
