Sorin shrugged. "This is why I do not normally look on purpose. I simply thought you wanted to know, as I offered."
He pushed himself up from the wall and dusted his hands off on his pants. Turning his back on the other boy, he leaned over the stone wall, peering down at the invisible ground far below. In truth, he felt a bit stupid for having offered to look - obviously Anthony hadn't meant he really wanted to know the information. He kicked his toe against the stones, his face closed off again.
"Let me say this. I think, I spoke incorrectly, when I said that it takes the surprise away. Perhaps, even the visions surprise me sometimes themselves. I wonder - why do I get them? Why me, when I do nothing about them?"
When he turned back, his gaze was cold and distant.
"I do hate the visions, because they are useless to me. You say I ruin the surprise of others. I agree. I will not apologize for telling you, because I thought you wanted to know. But tell me this. When I see something that could change a person's life, should I tell them? Or sit by and let it happen, as if I know nothing?"
