"No," Taff shook his head, "I'm not like that..you know I'm not. Tht was just a one off- I swear!" He stepped towards Anthony a little before pausing. The last time he'd done that Anthony had flinched. He'd put Anthony through a lot, more than anyone should have to go through. The words that Ant had muttered on the train about loving him still haunted the back of Taff's thoughts. It was cruel that he didn't love Anthony back. Whatever seemed to be stopping him from letting himself fall for the boy was cruel indeed.
So what did he do? He didn't want to see his friend suffer. Did he just give Anthony what he wanted to make him happy. "Please. I want us to be friends," He said softly. The light he'd conjured dimmed slightly and Taff could tell the spell was fading. In a minute or so, they'd be plunged into darkness for however long it would take to cast a new one. But lit like that, Anthony looked lovely. So why didn't he love him?
