Neville knew he should have stopped doing this a long time ago. He knew that he should just face it and go tot the Great Hall for meals again, but he still couldn't help the feeling he got even walking by it. So here he was again, sneaking food from the kitchens while his friends ate upstairs.
The house elves knew him by name (and favorite foods) now, and even though he usually took the food to his dorm or somewhere else to eat it he would occasionally indulge them and allow them to dote over him while eating in the kitchens. He found the portrait, tickled the pear and opened the door once the handle appeared. Stepping in he was immediately hit with the aromas of tonight's dinner and a small elf appeared by his feet.
"Mister Neville Longbottom! So good to see you again sir, you missed breakfast this morning, Pipsy hopes you was well fed sir. Would you like anything special tonight sir, we would be happy to make whatever you like."
"I was fine Pipsy." Neville told her, making his way to one of the tables in the center of the kitchen "Whatever is for dinner would be great."
They were used to him by now and did not ask any questions.
Neville did not even have his food yet when he heard the portrait opening again. He had yet to come across anyone else down here yet and immediately began formulating excuses in case it was someone he would not want to tell the truth to.
