If pressed, she would have told him that it was a bit of both. There was something about him that made him easy to talk to, but she couldn't for the life of her tell you what it was specifically. But maybe there wasn't one specific answer. And she was growing more comfortable around him each time they talked. He seemed to be one of the few people who wasn't going to judge her for what she said or hold her opinions against her. And it was refreshing to finally be able to completely open for once and not feel like she was going to offend or alienate someone. She was less comfortable with the vulnerability that came along with it, but she trusted him enough to know that he wasn't going to do anything with this new information about her.
"We all have or will experience unimaginable things," she mused. "It seems silly to complain to you though when you've experienced things that are far worse than anything I'll ever go through." She had never talked to him about the past year, but word got around quickly so she knew the general details of what had happened to him. "I'm really not losing much. A family who's willing to disown me for breaking tradition is really no family at all, and if I can do something worthwhile, I'll happily give up my inheritance." But she was absolutely terrified nonetheless, no matter how much she tried to hide it.
She was quiet for a moment, studying him. "I'd like that though. Being friends."
