Ioan nodded. "I understand. I was mostly thinking out loud. The 'welcome anytime' part stands, though. I trust you enough not to hex me or my family if you do decide to visit. After all, you're risking excommunication by talking to me in public now. There must be something you like about me."
To show her he was only joking, he flashed a mischievous smile her direction. Really, though, he did appreciate her...courage? Curiosity? Whatever it was, in talking to him. Slytherin or not, he didn't think she had any ulterior motive. After all, he had approached her.
He couldn't imagine growing up in such a world that wouldn't approve of enjoying life to the fullest. And in favor of impressing other people! True, he longed to do that with his music, but his ambitions mainly centered around people enjoying his music - and the more who enjoyed it, the better. Briefly he wondered if Daphne would enjoy it, too, but he got the impression that she just might.
"And, oooh, a rebel, aye?" he chuckled. What he really thought was that if they didn't accept her unconditionally, they weren't very good friends. But he didn't say that. He had a feeling their conversation would be over and honestly? He didn't want to risk hurting her feelings. It was something he could say to Anthony or Zach, but not her. "Someone after my own heart."
