Unfortunately for him, Daphne had indeed noticed, but there was no use in embarrassing him by letting him know that. Besides, he had every reason to be surprised. Really, she had surprised herself. She couldn't blame him for being caught off guard.
Except that wasn't exactly what she meant. She couldn't really say what she had in mind, but it was vague possible idea for the future after they had gotten to know each other. Winter break was sooner than she had been thinking, but then again, a lot could happen in two months. It was sweet of him to offer though, and it would be an offer she'd keep in mind.
"There is very little that my friends like. I've simply learned not to tell them everything." Pansy would no doubt have a heart attack, but she very much doubted Millicent or Taff cared. Her mother would be the bigger problem, but Daphne had been lying to her for years.
"That sounds interesting though," she continued, giggling softly at his description. "Fun, even. It sounds like a real family. I imagine that it goes without saying that those are not activities that occur in the Greengrass household." She paused for a moment, considering his offer. "Well, I wasn't thinking something quite so soon as winter holiday, but I may take you up on that offer. Thank you."
