As he sat, she closed her book and tucked her legs underneath her. She wouldn't have cared where he sat, but this seemed a proper distance. She wasn't one of those people who had some sort of personal bubble, but it still would have been rather odd if he had sat right besides her. Too familiar, she supposed. She didn't know what they were, but they weren't exactly friends. Besides this made it easier for her to face him anyway.
"Everyone has one thing that people latch onto and try to define them by. It's often troublesome and it's often not even a fair representation of them, but so it goes. There are worse things for them to define you by. I'm not surprised some are intimidated though. You're talented and attractive, and to some naive girl who's quick to develop a schoolgirl crush, that's enough to make you appealing, which translates to intimidating for many."
She couldn't help but laugh at his comment. "No, I am most certainly not. The closest I get to the outdoors is the stables. But this is hardly the great outdoors, you realize. It's not like you've stumbled upon me sleeping in a tent in the wilderness. It's just the grounds of Hogwarts. It's a nice day, and it would have been a shame to waste it."
