Who: Everyone! (Tag Yourself!)
What: First DA meeting
Where: The Pitch
When: Monday Noon
Incomplete: Open
Harry stood in the center of the pitch, right before lunch rolled around, waiting to see who would show up to the first DA meeting of this year. He was nervous. He knew there would be Slytherins afoot, and that his fellow housemates would object.
Ginny stood beside him, as his right hand. He knew she was the best person for the job. Ron and Hermione would be there soon.
He waited a few minutes as he saw people coming into the stadium. Students sixth year and above all sat packed into one section. As soon as the clock struck twelve, Harry looked over at Ginny and nodded.
Casting a sonorous on his mouth he addressed the growing crowd.
"Good afternoon. You're all here because you wish to be a part of Dumbledore's Army. This is the third year the D.A. has been reinstated because of unrest in our world. I hope you have come ready to learn Defensive spells that can protect you and others from harm if it is needed."
He looked around at the students, specifically looking out for a familiar blonde head, and Ron and Hermione who should be down here with him.
"I'm sure you don't need any introductions, but I'm Harry Potter, and this is Ginny Weasley. And THIS is Dumbledore's Army. We do have a few rules, but they're not as strict as they once were. We now have permission to form this 'club'. Feel free to talk about the D.A. We also will have several group leaders, as there are so many people interested this time around. All are former D.A. members, and have had experience in the most recent war. The one rule I will not budge on, and the one rule that I will ask you to leave for if it is not followed is that ALL HOUSES ARE WELCOME. I will not tolerate House prejudice here. I know that I have had my issues in the past with different houses, but now, in this time, we need to be above House prejudices. We are students here to learn how to defend ourselves. We will treat each other as such.
That's all I really have to say for now. If you would, I'd like to open the floor up to any questions you may have, as well as opening up suggestions for times to meet. Thanks."
Harry didn't cancel the sonorous on his voice, but he did stand quietly beside Ginny. He looked over and gave her a small smile. He hated speaking in front of people, but he was glad to have done this.
