Who: Megan Jones & Open to Any Puff When: Breakfast, Monday Morning Where: Great Hall What: Dealing with Death
The Great Hall was almost empty. The day before it had been alive and buzzing, most of the students talking about what they were going to do at Hogsmeade. Meg had been one of them. She was going to go get a butterbeer and then get some sweets and buy a new pair of socks. Yesterday had been a good day.
Until the news broke. And then yesterday was a horrible day. Not the Great Hall was empty. So many students had left and Meg stared down the length of the Hufflepuff table. It was so long. And quiet.
She sat at the far end, alone. A plate of food sat in front of her, but Meg wasn't hungry. Her fork occasionally stabbed at the eggs, but not a single bite had made it to her mouth. Her journal was open in front of her, words appearing now and then. An owl from her mother sat next to the book, pleading with her to come home. Megan wasn't sure what to do.
This was supposed to be their second chance. Not a repeat.
