Demelza took a small, shaky breath and opened her mouth to say something, but her throat seemed to dry out almost instantly. She was nervous, and she shifted uncomfortably were she stood. The room suddenly seemed to small, her heart picked up beating against her chest rapidly, and her eyes darted around the room taking stock of everyone there. A very brave part of Demelza almost reached out and knocked the potion out of Sally's hand, but she hadn't been standing close enough.
"No one is taking the fucking potion." Demelza said in a raspy, but firm voice. She pulled the hat she was wearing tighter around her head. "I'm not giving you my hair. I'm not letting fucking go out there and get yourselves killed. This is dumb. This is all dumb. You guys have no idea. No idea how twisted and clever and fucking insane he is. You aren't going to win. You aren't going to do anything but piss him off and get yourselves all battered up. What makes you think that you can do something that dozens of Aurors couldn't?" She was practically shouting at them. She suddenly felt very crazy.
"Don't look at me like that." She told them, crossing her arms over her chest and watching the rest of them, feeling a little paranoid. "I told you, Millicent, I wont be a part of this. I wont be responsible for everyone getting hurt. I wont give you my hair. I've stalled you as long as I can. I've come up with excuse after excuse and you just keep pushing. YOU WILL GET HURT if you go out there. You don't think he's prepared for an attack? He fucking killed a girl because he could, you don't think he's expecting a backlash? You don't think he knows that eventually someone is going to go out there? You guys aren't Harry FUCKING Potter, you don't have a million lives."
"I'm telling you right now, I'm not above marching to Sinistra's office right now and letting her in on every little detail of these meetings." She said softly, letting her gaze fall to the floor. She didn't want any of them to be in trouble. She didn't want them angry at her. Those thoughts were moot when compared to her desire to make sure they didn't die.
