Verity was contentedly lacing the boot back up, trying to get the ribbons to lay prettily the way Tracey'd had them, but Tracey's questions took her aback and she stopped. She felt suddenly guilty, as though she'd taken things a step too far without knowing it, which didn't make any sense.
"I-" she let her hands drop, and she stared at the dangling blue ribbons, wondering if she'd unintentionally crossed some cultural boundary. "Sorry? I won't if it bugs you."
