"I think she'd be a little wary at first, but she trusts me now. You'd be fine." He wondered silently if that would ever actually happen. He hadn't gotten any mail from his Gran since a week or so after the start of term. He was getting a little worried.
"That sounds like a smart idea. I'd never have thought about it like that."
His mind started running when she mentioned waiting at the edge of the bubble for her mother. What if someone did happen to wander the path. Id someone from inside was there they could maybe communicate, get someone to come in who could deal with Bole. "It's not silly. I... everytime I went to visit my mum she would give me candy wrappers. Gran would always tell me to throw them away but, I kept them all. I still have them up in my trunk. I know it was probably nothing but...she didn't give them to anyone else and it made it seem like maybe, somewhere deep down she remembered who I was. To a lot of people I imagine that sounds rather silly." He'd never told that to anyone before, but he felt like it was okay to tell her.
He heard the hope in her voice and didn't blame her. He'd noticed no one seemed to be getting sick as well and found himself hoping the same things. "We can only wish that's true." He kissed her temple. He really did wish he could get away from this place with her, even if for only a few hours.
