Who: Meg and Sally
When: Thursday Afternoon
Where: Seventh Floor
What: Megan comes to talk to Sally
Rating: Low
Status: Complete
Megan hurried up to the seventh floor to find Sally. She was bursting with the need to talk to someone about Nicky and Stan and how she felt, but she didn't know who to talk to. It was a messy situation, wasn't it? Besides, she hadn't seen Sally in a few days and she had heard all about the fight Wayne and Sally had. It was obvious they needed to catch up.
Finally spotting Sally, Megan ran over and threw her arms around her friend. "Hi!"
Sally had just climbed into the corridor after spending the day on the roof, same as the day before. It was calm out there, despite the fog, and it was nice to be alone. She found it was a lot easier to not think there. But it was still January in England so she came in and went to the room she'd been staying in. As soon as she climbed back into the castle though, all those thoughts she'd been pushing away, the ones about Wayne and Harold, and worrying about the classes she'd decided to skip out of fear of running into Wayne in the corridors, well they all came back.
Sally sighed as she leaned against the window she had just closed, she knew she wouldn't be going back to the common room for a while. Maybe she should drop by and grab her trunk and bring it up here. She was so sure that all the other Puffs would ostracize her when she came back. It seemed like everyone took Wayne's side whenever they fought...
She'd been thinking that right as Meg launched herself against Sally, so she took a second to respond. Eventually she wrapped her arms around the other girl and offered a tiny smile, "Hey. You going to tell me why you're so happy all of a sudden?"
"I sure will! But first you have to tell me why you're hiding up here. It's not like you." Megan squeezed her again before finally pulling back. She knew how awful it was to argue with someone you cared about and she didn't want Sally to go through that alone.
Without magic she couldn't conjure anything to sit on so Meg opted for the windowsill.
Sally let out a sigh and decided to sit on the floor underneath the window sill. "Remember after Wayne's birthday and everyone was so mad at me cause we fought? I just have a feeling it'd be the same thing. Like whenever Wayne and I fight, I'm automatically the bad guy." Sally gave a shrug and pulled at her shoelace. In other words, she was hiding from everyone.
"But I would really love to hear some good news, so you wanna tell me what's got you so happy?"
Meg frowned. "That's stupid. We love you. And why are you going to let Wayne decide where you can and can't go?" Meg thought Sally should be able to go anywhere she wanted or date anyone she wanted.
Ducking her head and smiling, Megan wondered how to start. "Well. Um. See it's because of Nicky."
Sally gave a shrug, "Thats how it's always been with us. He's the one that controls our friendship. Everyone just thinks it's me because I'm the loud one." Sally bit her lip. It was nice knowing there was someone who didn't hate her, or mind that she was dating Harold.
She looked up from her position on the floor, craning her neck awkwardly. "Nicky? Do you like him?" A slow smile spread on Sally's face. Oh, she liked Nicky much better than Stan.
Megan really hated she was just light skinned enough to show the pink staining her cheeks. She smiled and nodded. "Yeah, I do. He's so sweet. We've been spending a lot of time together."
In fact, she'd be going to look for him once she was done talking to Sally.
Sally smirked up at Megan. "Well, that's great!" Sally tilted her head at Megan, a confused look flashing across her face. "Did you break up with Stan?" Had she missed that? Still, she was rather happy about Nicky. She thought the two would go well together, much better than Megan and Stan.
Megan bit down on her lip and looked away. No, she hadn't broken up with Stan. She did love Stan. But Megan knew a part of her would always doubt that he was being totally honest with her.
"Not yet. Nicky and I are only friends anyway. For now. And I don't want to hurt Stan."
Sally got up and wrapped an arm around Megan's shoulders. "He's already hurt you. I don't think you owe him anything. Besides, it looks like Nicky's made you so happy just by being your friend. Could you imagine how it would be if you were dating?"
Leaning into Sally, Megan shrugged again. She had a point. Megan truly cared about Stan. She loved him. But their fight had been so horrible and awful that Megan wasn't sure if they could ever really bounce back from it.
And then she forgot about Stan. Megan thought about what it would be like to date Nicky and her smile grew even wider. "Do you think Justin would be upset?"
A dark look passed over Sally's face for a split second before it was replaced with a smile. She hated Justin. Not really, but it felt so much easier to be mad at Justin cause he got to be with Wayne. If not for Justin, would Wayne and her even have had that fight?
"I don't think so, no. Something tells me he's already pretty distracted. I doubt he'd even notice."
"I had a dream about Nicky. A really, really good one. And I.. well after I went to his room and curled up with him." Megan smiled at that. It was so nice sleeping next to Nicky. She hadn't said much in the morning, but it had still been perfect. "And, uh, I've sort of been sleeping with him. Just sleeping thought."
Sally raised an eyebrow at Meg and a smirk crossed her face. "I think you've made your choice then." Sally squeezed Meg's shoulder again before scooting to the other side of the window. She couldn't stop smiling at the other girl, she was happy for her. Plus, it just felt good to smile again.
"Hey, where do you think you're going?" Megan pulled Sally back close and kept her arms around her friend. "We're going to stay right here until you've had your fill of hugs."
Sally laughed and went back to Meg, wrapping her arms around her friend again. "Sounds good."
