Sally was stretched out on stomach with her Transfiguration book open. She'd already done her assignments, but she figured she should at least attempt to study before she decided to copy Ernie's notes. Though, for Sally, studying was usually hard for her, due to her energy, but now it was worse. And her energy had nothing to do with it. She just couldn't concentrate. She'd been reading the same chapter for two hours, and every so often she would come across a word that reminded her of Harold, or Wayne, and her concentration would be gone.
Sally sighed and put her head on the book, closing her eyes. Sally hated not knowing what was going to happen. She didn't know if her and Wayne would ever be as close as they were. If Justin really was going to replace her like she feared. She didn't know if Harold would ever figure out what was bothering him. If he didn't, would he ever come and talk to her? At this point, she didn't care. She just wanted her boyfriend to hold her. If she saw either of them, she'd just pretend everything was fine, and maybe everything would go back to normal.
Sally groaned. It wouldn't work like that. She might be able to pretend everything was fine, but eventually, it would all go to hell again. She hit her head gently on the book, then lifted her head to continue reading, swinging her feet idly. Sally bit her lip, the word 'best' flashing in her mind and her thoughts turned to her best friend.
