Leith held up his hand to beg a little patience. "I didn't mean to belittle the suffering or efforts of the staff, Aurora. Of course you've all been through hell. I know that as well as anyone. I also know that most people are sheep and will always look to someone else to blame, whether it lies within themselves or not."
Here lately the things he was saying weren't coming out quite as he wanted them to, as had been clear his first run-in with Tracey after returning to the school. But at least he could nod understandingly.
"As long as there are Gryffindors in this school, the rules will be ignored. They're the bloody ringleaders. Let them die. Then perhaps they'll learn." And there, he'd said it.
