Never once in his seven years at Hogwarts had Leith been called to the Headmaster's office. He'd kept his hands clean of any mischief. His wand was rather dirtier, as were the hands of those controlled by it, but that wasn't the point. Something was up. If anyone had found out about his recent fun, Aurora wouldn't have been summoned as well. Which meant that this was something else entirely. Something likely to prove either very interesting or very tedious. To keep up the facade of a considerate young man, he would be on time instead of fashionably late for once. Besides, there was little else to do and he needed to get out of Slytherin for a while.
Pausing at the Headmaster's door (and slightly surprised he even knew where it was), he knocked gently. When Flitwick announced it was open, Leith was too distracted by his thoughts to notice any discrepancy in the tiny man's voice. He did however immediately notice the lack of portraits on the walls. That was strange. Everyone knew, whether they'd been in the office or not, that there were portraits of all former Headmasters and Headmistresses. Yes, something was indeed out of order here.
"Headmaster?" he asked warily. "You wanted to see me?"
