His eyes widened considerably as she continued talking. It sounded as though something might be coming back. Even if it was just a little, it made him ridiculously happy. At least she knew he was a part of her life. That was what mattered. For now, anyway. He leaned forward a bit and nodded enthusiastically, despite the fact he didn't want to remember that awful night and the weeks that had followed. Particularly his drunken foray into the forest in search of revenge. That had obviously ended badly. And continued weirdly. But he digressed, even in thought.
"Yes. Coach Johnson and a few others got up a search party when you and Demelza didn't come back and so many hours went by." A girl had tripped over Demelza's face. Not a pleasant means of finding your girlfriend and her best friend. "We brought you back to the castle and you basically moved into my dorm. Some of your things are still there, where you left them."
