Oliver had a feeling Percy doubted his skills, but he was planning to figure out what the heck Toad in the Hole was, and he fully intended to cook it or have the house elves cook it and take credit.
Two hours later he gave up on making it himself and the houseelves didn't even bat an eye when he went down and asked for a "Toad in the Hole". They seemed to know exactly what it was, although they looked at him strangely as he walked away with it instead of eating it right there.
He set the room up as nice as he could, conjuring up a white round table and cushiony white chairs. A couple of crystal chandeliers on the ceiling and candles burning on the table along with the Toad in the Hole and he was ready for Percy with ten minutes to spare.
He was pretty proud of himself as he eased into one of the chairs. A wave of his wand changed his clothes from jeans and a sweater to his fanciest dress robes. It was the lazy man's way of changing but he'd run himself ragged getting everything in place before time was up.
In fact, he'd run himself so ragged he fell asleep in those ten minutes waiting for Percy.
