Astoria hadn't meant to hurt Sally. Though it appeared that she had been doing a lot of that lately. Astoria just didn't feel comfortable anymore. It was nothing against Sally, honestly. She had been the best friend that Astoria could hope for at the moment.
"Thanks," she said, taking a bite. "I think I can handle it, you know. If not you'll be around to help my self-control, yeah?" Astoria laughed. The idea of her simpering over a man was a bit ridiculous, she thought. And she wasn't sure how happy she actually was with having to talk to a stranger. Though she supposed that would be better than leaving her to her own thoughts.
