Honestly, no, Verity didn't at all get leaving a wonderful boss and a decent job. Between leaving Hogwarts and finding the job with the Weasleys, she had a lot of really awful jobs with some rotten people. It was why she valued George... and Fred so much. She made a vaguely affirmative "Mmm" sound to at least acknowledge what Penelope said.
Penelope was, apparently, at least a little crazy. Left a good job because she "had to" come to a quarantined school. Odd, but most of Verity's friends were a bit odd. "You had to?"
"Not even that good," Verity admitted. "I was crashing one of the anti-balls. And ended up not even having a very fun time." She laughed quietly at herself. "Then the shield went up and my boss and I discovered we were both stuck in here. Good times!"
"George Weasley is amazing," she said honestly. The infamous Weasleys gave Verity a little pang of regret. She had missed Fred, and she'd yet to see his ghost. What she had seen were months of working for the grieving George. She hoped he was okay. "He and Fred might- dunno- give you a test candy to see if your eyebrows fell off, but they'd do it to themselves too, and they'd buy you a beer after." She smiled in memory.
