Through his remaining tears, Ioan managed to laugh a little. Yes, they had won the war, or else he wouldn't be here now - just outside Diagon Alley and heading back to Hogwarts in less than two days. And there were most definitely high points. One, Anthony was alive and well, if as emotionally shaky as himself. But then, who could fault either of them? Or anyone else who'd been through any part of the war?
"That's the best news there is," he said. "And that our friends and family are still alive."
He couldn't bring himself to say 'most'. That would've put them right back where they started...downcast and hurting. And they'd only just tucked away the pain. The barrier was thin, so they needed to avoid prodding at it.
"That we're here, and together, and that there's hope. And bloody hell I sound like a cheesy motivational speaker."
