Yes, things were definitely starting to look better. But here in the dim light of the Leaky Cauldron with the quiet hum of strangers' conversations, it was easy to believe that things might just get back to normal without fuss. Ioan didn't have much hope of that, however. He was all too aware of life's tendency to do just the opposite of what a person wants. Instead of saying that, he smiled at Anthony over the rim of his cup.
"There's always the Weasleys' place," he offered by way of suggestion. "I hear they have loads of fun things. Or jewellery. Isn't there a shop here that sells things like that? Or did it close down last year? Ah well. We've the whole day tomorrow to look, if you're staying the night. I don't fancy going back out in the weather. Besides, it's getting dark out."
He didn't offer any further comment on the late hour. Anthony knew him well enough that he didn't need to.
"I'm on my own, so if you like, we can bunk up. We'll have our sleepover a bit early, then."
