Alice nodded slowly, pushing her bangs out of her face again. She bit her lip, trying to think of how to just say this to Ginny. To Alice, admitting what she was doing was a big deal. She wasn't any closer to finding the answer than anyone else but it was a big deal that she was actually doing work.
"I am now," Alice said finally, "But I might not be soon. Ginny, you know how easily I get sick and whatnot. It's only a matter of time before I get the virus. I just know it. It won't be much of a difference, my magic sucks, but it's been getting better lately...." she trailed off before shaking her head. "But I've been in the library with whatever spare time I have trying to find some sort of cure for this damned virus before I get it. I know that people here are but Ginny, you know just as well as I do that if someone saw me doing work, the professors would expect more from me and I just can't do that."
She sighed. "I'm scared, alright? Terrified, really. But for the first time in my life, I'm going to do something about it. And I feel a lot better telling someone else, but you gotta keep this between us."
