Teddy was starting to get sleepy; Harry could see his hair starting to turn a lighter color. He knew that if Harry and Draco were quiet, Teddy would start to fuss and would need his pacifier to calm him down enough to sleep. He didn't pull the pacifier out yet, but made sure he had it in the bag in case Teddy needed it.
"I think things changed that night. I mean, when Dumbledore... Well, I hated you for a long time, and then-- well, you lowered your wand. And then you liked to Voldemort. I think... I think if you hadn't done those things, I would have left you. But you did, so I couldn't. It's a stupid Gryffindor reason, but that's why I did what I did." He paused and thought about all the scars he had caused for Draco, "I'm glad they're not that bad."
He got quiet then, and Teddy began to whimper a little bit. "Here," Harry said and took Teddy into his arms and reached into the bag for the pacifier. The little boy didn't need a blanket outside, but Harry grabbed that as well, and wrapped Teddy up gently. He settled Teddy onto his shoulder, a little more expertly than Draco had held him and stood to rub his back.
"I think you'll be around to make sure our stories are fair to both parties." He smiled softly at Draco, but ducked his head a bit when he realized how that sounded, "I mean, because you're his cousin, and I think you should play a part in his life as well."
