That was enough. Marcus wasn't the nice sort at all, but he wasn't an outright cruel person like others seem to think him to be. But this wasn't the time to try and clear his name. He wasn't ashamed of anything he had done, or was doing, after all. And here he was, throwing a wrench into his own plans to actually be helpful. He made a note that, under no circumstances, would he ever offer another helpful hand to anyone.
Marcus, after letting Katie ask her questions, took a few steps toward her. In a quick, fluid motion, he lifted the slender blonde up from the ground and placed her, promptly, over his shoulder. They would never make it to the Gryffindor common room hallway if she kept stopping. And she seemed to only stop when she had to ask him some ridiculous question. Besides, he hadn't offered to play any question game. He wasn't about to start now.
Even with Katie in tow, Marcus was making up a great deal of time down the hallway. He moved much faster than they had previously been moving along. It was surprisingly, really, that Marcus had been a Chaser given his build and stature. He had the makings of a fine Beater, or even a Keeper. In reality, though, the entire Slytherin Quidditch team had been much larger than the other house teams.
He was careful not to inappropriately touch her while he carried her. His arm remained firmly wrapped around her legs to keep her from slipping. Marcus didn't need her screaming that he was trying to do anything to her. Not that would. At least, he was fairly certain he didn't want to. He did steal a very quick glance over at her before focusing on the hallway again. He remained silent in hopes that Katie would, hopefully, stay quiet for the remainder of their walk.
