She gave a laugh at his teasing ("Chips, of course."), and twisted around to watch him as he went to order their food. She'd forgotten how easy it was to forget everything she'd hated about being with Michael after the fact. Those were thoughts that she couldn't afford to entertain. Not yet.
Glancing down at the table, she picked the necklace up again. It really was gorgeous. Unhooking the clasp, she brought it around her neck and fastened it. It was the exact colour of her hair, something she knew Michael would've done on purpose. The thought made her smile as she toyed with the amber.
