When Seamus turned around, Dean lifted his gaze from the floor. Those questions ran through his mind more than he would have liked. He had wanted Alecto to cross the barrier. Taunted her. Egged her on. The thought of what he would have done never entered his thoughts that particular moment. All he wanted was to cause her pain as much as she had done to him. Dean had been through his fair share of events that he had been through, and somehow he managed to get through them fine. More or less.
"I would have figured out something," he responded shortly. Just because he was magicless, it didn't mean that he was useless or defenseless either, which were two things that Dean had an inkling that Seamus thought he was now. He was still adamant that he could help out and be there when times got rough. Just in a different way. And even if his best friend thought otherwise, that wasn't going to stop him. "I always have."
"Just don't run into anything half-cocked," he replied with a bit of a pause. Dean didn't want Seamus to leap before he thought when it came to those moments. It happened before, and he was sure that it would happen again, allowing emotion to take over before doing what was smart. "Don't tell me you don't because you have already."
