The mere mention of his mum made Dean lower his head, casting his gaze on the floor. He didn't even have to ask why Seamus didn't face him after the whole admittance of what bothered the blonde. It had nothing to do with the fact that they had plenty of serious conversations before. The now felt a whole lot different compared to those particular times all together.
However, a talk about his mum was one that he wanted to avoid.
"You're right. It's all messed up," he began with a short raise of his eyebrows. It was too much, especially for those who resided in Hogwarts. It was one thing after another, piling up on top of each other. "But you don't have to keep any of that to yourself. It hasn't stopped you before. It hasn't stopped me either." Dean could tell that it had been longer than he had expected since their last talk. And maybe Seamus felt a bit left out that Dean wen to Ginny for more than a few things when it came to situations of the like. By now, the unexpected events and their aftermaths dwelled high above them, plus the added bit at the end that all Seamus wanted was a drink. That was another thing that Dean wanted bring up before it all ended.
"You don't have to be, I don't know, Superman wen it comes to these things, Shay. That's not what Lia needs. Even without magic, she can hold her own. I still can too," he continued. A part of him wanted to see what Seamus felt about that. Ever since his best friend had failed to tell him about the nightly adventure to find Bole, it felt as though Seamus thought that Dean couldn't watch out for himself. Or do anything for that matter. "We gotta make best with what we got until we're out of here."
