Terence had expected her to tell him no, so he was about to debate leaving, even if it was against every god damn fiber of his being to leave her out here like this, when she reluctantly agreed. A small smile graced his lips, but it was hidden by the darkened outdoors and he held out his hand to her, feeling it was only gentlemanly to help her up, even if she wasn't interested in it.
"I know you wish you could do more," he said quietly, waiting until she was standing to say anything else. "Wish I could have done more... when I was in your shoes," he commented before looking down at her feet and chuckling slightly, trying his hardest to lighten her mood. "Except maybe not those shoes. Not too good in ankle breaking heels, after all."
