Melinda didn't really want to talk about it. At least, that was her plan. It was part of the reason for being outside. Nobody, really, came outside all that much anymore. She could have just stepped away from it. Of course she managed to find the part of the castle near someone else who was either brave enough or stupid enough to be out here. Alone, even.
She let out a soft snort of a laugh at his comment. She wanted to say that she didn't need anybody to punch someone for her -- she'd never had a problem doing that on her own. If anything, she was always going to be able to murder someone with her shoes if she really ever needed to. But he had been right about one thing -- she wasn't the type to let men get to her like this. Anyone, really.
