Sally and Harold
"It's just something about them that's comforting, you know? The outside world just goes away, and you can focus on just having fun and relaxing," she said, her voice coming out soft as she paused to look up at the blankets around them. She didn't have to feel scared in here. She was honestly thinking about trying to make it a more permanent fixture. Apparently they would need it this year...
Sally offered him a shrug as she settled in beside him again. "I like sharing with my friends. And if my supply of sweets and drinks helps...then it's worth it." She looked over at him when he stopped talking, biting her lip before taking a sip of her drink. An idea had popped into her head, and she knew she needed to think it through before speaking, because she didn't want Harold thinking that she pitied him. But he was sad! And, he was her...Well, she cared about him.
Before she could talk herself out of it, she spoke softly, "I could help you, you know. Not with the selling or the ideas or anything, because that's all you, but if you needed privacy, I could help with that." She watched his face out of the corner of her eye, trying to make it seem like it wasn't especially important, but she knew it would be to him, at least.
