Burke. Yes, Burke would be good. He was an excellent Healer and could possibly draw out whatever foreign materials were cutting off Gabe's sight. But before that, Gabe needed to get himself under some semblance of control. Needed to slow his heart rate and his breathing. This blindness was only temporary. No thinking anything else. That would've been dangerous. If Benjy could get him to the hospital wing, his colleagues could take care of the compromised surfaces of his eyes. He could keep them closed until then, he thought. No need to stress Benjy further. There were certain spells he likely could have performed himself, but his usual logic and cool under pressure were still a tad elusive. The shaking was subsiding, thankfully.
If there was one thing Gabriel hated, however, it was asking for help. Even from his best friend. He didn't enjoy coming across as weak or needy. Probably no one did, but this made twice in a year that Benjy had had to come running to his rescue. It didn't stop Gabe wanting to lean forward and just rest his head against one strong shoulder for just a moment. They didn't have time for that, and there was the discomforting realization that he might have missed had he tried.
"Help me up," he said quietly. Bracing his hands against the floor wasn't an option. He didn't need any more wounds or further exposure to the items and liquids currently scattered among the glass. "We should - we should put something on the door. Across it. Make sure no one else comes in here without warning."
He needed to let Andy know what had happened somehow. That he'd be stuck in hospital for maybe a few days. But he could broach that particular subject later.
