Alex tensed up as the door slammed open and he was so, so grateful that he'd had the forethought to merely tense and not jump and shriek like he wanted. Because otherwise, he was sure that he'd have to paint the crest all over again and that would take bloody ages.

Carefully, he got the crest in place and set his wand down. He took his glasses off and set them down as he gently blew on the black paint to let it set. "Makin' him a mini-quaffle pin. I don't reckon he'll actually wear it or anything but it'll make a nice reminder when he grows old."
