WHO: Meg & Kevin WHAT: A chat with Kevin WHEN: Tuesday afternoon after classes WHERE: Out by the lake RATING: PG STATUS: Incomplete; WIP
Megan twirled her hair around her fingers as she waited by the lake for Kevin to join her. They hadn't had a private conversation in a very long time and it was something she hated to admit that she missed. She missed being in a relationship with someone she knew so well, but that wasn't what this was about. She didn't want Kevin back. She just wanted to ask a stupid question that shouldn't even matter to her anyway. And she knew other questions would follow at least on her side because the one question led to another and another. It was silly, really and she didn't know why she was bothering to waste their time with it.
She plopped down under the tree where she loved to do her writing. It was peaceful here, but she could still see the quarantine bubble. She hated being stuck here, but as Ernie had pointed out - at least they were all together. That should've made her feel better, but it didn't. She was always waiting for the other shoe to drop. Something big was going to happen in the next few weeks or months and she hated not knowing what it could be.
She thought she knew what she wanted to say to Kevin, but now she didn't know if she could get the words out. And that wasn't something Megan was used to - she talked more than she listened sometimes. Hopefully once Kevin was there she'd be able to figure out what she wanted to say and how to say it.
She took a deep breath and brushed her hair angrily back from her face before she pulled her left up to her chest, resting her arms on it as she leaned back against the tree. She looked out across the lake, taking in the view. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't hear Kevin come up beside her.
