Okay, maybe Dean didn't exactly lose his temper with Lia, but he subdued a lot of what he was feeling. He could have gone off on her. He could have done or said a lot of things, but he had a lot of self control. And it was probably for the better, especially for those around. Not that he thought that he would do anything off the wall or something to caliber that Seamus might have attempted in return.
But still.
But still a lot of things.
Dean ran a hand along the back of his neck, rubbing it slightly. "Maybe you irritated the hell out of me, Queen of the Moon," he shot back her own tease with the same tone with a bit of clarity. It didn't matter anymore that he barely swore that much. That was something he kept in check. Or well usually. "Really irritated the hell out of me." Dean still didn't see the point of lashing out, but it obviously made a person feel better in the long run, depending what happened afterwards. "All of the stuff," he repeated. To make sure that she knew that they were good with all of it.
Even so, Dean didn't wish what happened to him happened to anyone else. A part of it all was unfair, especially considering what he had been through, but there were plenty of others that were in the same boat. It didn't matter if it was Pansy or another Slytherin all together. "She wouldn't be able to handle it. I don't think she would know what to do with herself," he began. For someone to go their entire life with magic to only have it taken away would probably be worse. Together, they pretty much knew how to do everything without the use of magic. And if there wasn't an immunity with the pure, the rest would be better off with the adjustment. "Think of all the stuff she'd have to do. And in the muggle way. It would have been something to actually see happen. I'll have to admit that it would be funny to watch though."
To everyone else, Lia could have been a mean person, but Dean knew otherwise. And she proved it time and time again to him in her own special way, especially with the article that she had written about Ginny. It was a good, but not forgotten, reminder that they cared about how each other felt. They were there for one another. Dean took a step in and wrapped his arms around his friend. It wasn't like the lame embrace that he had given her the night that Seamus had gotten himself hurt. No. It was an actual hug. "You're a good person too. I hope you know that," he began. It was something that Dean couldn't have done, knowing that Ginny wouldn't have want him to draw even more attention to the article that Witch Weekly had published. "Thank you for, you know, what you wrote." It wasn't just for him, but from Ginny as well. He knew she wouldn't outright say it, but the red head was appreciative of it too.
