Ernie frowned a little bit, and draped his arm over her shoulders, giving it a bit of a squeeze. “Is it due tomorrow? Maybe put it off until tomorrow, and I’ll try and help you tackle it?” He said gently. Things were hard, and no one would say anything if she put some work off until later, even if that wasn’t Ernie’s usual sort of advice.
“Arithmancy.” He said with a bit of a frown. He too had been having concentrtion issues and the concept just wasn’t sticking with him. He’d understand it, he was sure, if he put it down and came back to it a little later, but he hadn’t had the desire to stop trying yet.
He nodded as she talked about her day, it did sound pretty sucky. “Well, think. If you could do any one thing before dinner, what would you do?”
